יַבֶּלֶת

יַבֶּלֶתf. (b. h.; נָבַל) withered excrescence; 1) wart on the skin. Erub.X, 13 (103a) חותכין י׳וכ׳ (Rashi in ed. Sonc. יַבּוֹלֶת, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l note) you may cut off (on the Sabbath) a wart of an animal in the Temple. Ib.; Pes.VI, 1 חתיכת יַבַּלְתּוֹ the cutting of its (the sacrifices) warts; ib. 68b (י׳) לחה a moist wart, יבשה whose neck is dried up; a. e.Pl. יַבָּלוֹת. Neg. VI, 7; Tosef. ib. II, 12 יובלת (corr. acc.); Sifra Thazr., Neg., Par. 1, ch. II יַבּוֹלוֹת, distinguished fr. דלדולים or תלתלים, v. דִּלְדּוּל. 2) parasitic excrescences on trees, or withered twigs.
